Its always a good feeling to be wanted. I asked permission on one of my closest and best farms today . He reply was No I'm not giving you permission.
I instantly got a sick feeling in my stomach. Then he says I'm telling you , you Are trapping here this year, we need you. We have been seeing and hearing coyotes daily. I live in red fox area with the coyotes moving in hard . I get the biggest rush out of catching them My reply I would be happy to help. I'll hit them as hard as possible.

It's Always good To hear yes
When I hear "after deer season" I usually don't trap there Then in a couple of seasons some of them call and say, "you can trap any time ya want". Then I return
Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!
If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

Do a good job show respect for the land don't tear up the roads and let the landowner know what your catching is the way to go as most people come to the landowner asking for or trying to sell them something few if any are providing a service for them!
The less you say about what you want out of it and stress what you can do for him the better it is as he sees what he's getting more then just giving all of the time!
I drop off eggs all of the time for my landowners the year around to keep in contact with them and listen to what their needs are and help with cattle when they work them or drive truck whatever they need help with. When I go to work cattle and they are asking me if I'm trapping this year a big change from the out East outlook for getting on a place.

I say what others have stated is do that since you are wanted there. You will keep have that ground to trap for some time.I have that going on for the ones that are fair with me and treat me right like I do with them, they want me back and also what I do is after the season.I go to each land owner and let them know how I did that way they know and also make sure I can trap next season.I know they will say yes ,it is just to show them that I treat them fair like I wanted. There is one person I ask to trap there place last year and that person was mad because of I trap the land near his and did not like it and told me that he dose not let anyone trap it before the deer season also. and I do not trap by then so I walk away. now my brother told me he is looking for someone to trap the place because he is worry about the coyotes doing a job on the deer. I told my brother if he wants me let him call me.he made it clear last year that he did not want me there. He can do like someone else wanted someone to trap for them and got a hold of the game warden about it and the game warden gave them my name and number.I took care of th person problem.

When you have 50-60 farms , it’s a little hard to help out at each one .

When you have 50-60 farms , it’s a little hard to help out at each one . It's a matter location then the East is often smaller farms where here they are sometimes a thousand or more acres in the West so less ranches are needed to cover it all! A thank you card or Christmas card might go a long way then.
