If I had that problem of traps come up missing for some other reason then a animal I just call the game warden and he will take care of it.It dose not matter who they are or what they use. Over all I still think a kayak is funny.Mainly watch some use them to fish with and no room for hardly anything.I stick with my canoe.it work when I use to trap with it and also hunt with it and also fish with and that is what I do now with it.

Glad my son doesn't live in new jersey. He's a kayaker (class 4 instructor at 18). Avid hunter, bowhunter, fisherman and honor college student. Pretty sure he's never stolen a thing in his life.

Now I will agree that most people on a PWC are dumb, and no good sometimes.

I only get angry at the kayakers when they use the permitted municipal launch ramps like they don’t have to pay.
Red, yellow, blue fiberglass mark the waters edge, “ coming down!” I say. They can move pretty quickly!
I try to give them a decent distance as I pass them in the ocean, out of consideration of their smaller craft. Still, often they display unwarranted theatrics toward me as I am passing.
Whatever, it’s my ocean too, after all.
I haven’t ever made any connection with them doing anything to my sets. They have certainly seen them and animals in them.

My issue here is commercial crabbers checking my crab pots. I mean I set five and they want to work them when they come through??? like really? WTH. Ill say the last go around I think was dingbatters (didnt see it this time), but mainly comm crews. Even if I see them working an area I move away from them so not to get in their way as they are trying to earn a $ I get it I used to do it myself. They still come over and screw with my pots (witnessed but not by me). After last go around they might have learned their lesson.

It was probably our Great New Governor and his Libtard party out Bear watching.

Traps were collapsible net traps, easy to hide in truck or transport on kayak. Went back there this morning found several of the pvc spreader sticks and the back of one trap. Evidence leads me to believe they cut the traps in half and then tossed into deep water. The night I set it was raining but no wind. Part of the trap has to be above water so the snappers can get air. Once turtles are caught they fight the trap making waves that can be a giveaway to the traps' location. Once they blunder into finding 1 they seek out the others.
I prefer to use my wire cage turtle traps as I can hide them better but they are just not easy to carry on a row boat and still be able to row the boat (no motors allowed on this particular lake).
It just bugs me that so many people think it is Ok to steal or destroy other peoples property just because it is there and not under constant guard.

Wasn't bad at first, most that had them knew something about the river and how to act when there.
But this newer generation, WOW.

Wife won't go, and discourages me from going near the river during the weelends unless it's winter. I have no patience for idiots around me and things usually get thrown at them.

Not hard to figure out that a boat on anchor with fishing poles about, you should give some room. But nope, they have to paddle around and over your lines.

See someone in the area get a plate number takes a few seconds to jot down, if you need it you have it if not no big deal! Vehicle colors are about impossible to follow up on in most cases.

Kayakers I have no issue with. Maybe it's the sight of that mudmotor hanging off the back end that causes them to give a wide berth.

Most here are rentals. My property borders a big campground that rents the dumb things.
