I'm willing to bet there's 3 Razorbacks with their head hung low this morning after their BLOWN opportunity to win their first ever CWS. That was a great game topped off by a horrible decision for not one of the three to even attempt to catch the game ending pop foul.

Hopefully they'll pull it off tonight.

They looked like the Bad News Bears, while the three of them stood there watching the ball hit the ground. That was clearly the right fielders ball, but the second baseman was adamant about making that catch, and called the right fielder off, only to loose sight of the ball. That was the CWS championship right there for the Razorbacks and a complete momentum changer for the Beavers in that moment. The last game should be interesting, but the Beavers have been coming back late in their games to win in the majority of their CWS games. We will see who has the ability to stay focused and wants it the most in the next game.

Yes, last nights pop up that dropped between all 3 was a big time OOPS!!!!

I don't have a dog in the fight...…..WOW what an effort by the Beaver's FRESHMAN pitcher, pitched like 23 pitches last night.....then to turn around today and throw a complete game shut out, 2 hitter.....like 129 pitches......again as a FRESHMAN. I hope the kids arm is OK, most starting Pro pitchers don't go near 130 pitches, let alone coming off throwing the night before!! Again, I hope the kids arm is ok.

College baseball has to be among the very best ball to watch!!!

I agree Bristleback. College baseball is among the best baseball to watch. The majority of these young men will not go to the Pros, are not on scholarships and they play the game because they truly love the game. College baseball is still pure and wholesome baseball. It is a pleasure to watch. I wish all of the players Good Luck, God's Speed and success in the future.

An excellent college world series. It had it all drama long balls and yes even mistakes. Outstanding pitching for the Oregon club last night.

When?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Which leads to the question of how many razorbacks does it take to catch a pop fly ball?

I see one sports writer pressing why the Oregon St coach rode the freshman pitcher so much:
247 pitches in 5 days.
95 pitches in the win over MS.
23 pitches the night before the final game:
129 pitches in the final game. 4-0 going into the 8th, 5-0 going into the 9th.

Dwaine:

I was a bit surprised at the pitching length decision on Abel, but . . .

1. He's young
2. He doesn't through breaking balls. He's a two-pitch pitcher. Fastball that barely touches 90 and lives on an outstanding change up in the low 80's. He's not going to flame out, and he's not going to have Tommy John because of the breaking balls.
3. It was the last game of the season. He can rest until next year.
4. He was their best hope. Beavers' bull pen was pretty weary.

Having said all that, I still think its a suspect move and if I was Abel's dad I'd have a long talk with the coach about my son's pitch count next season. Great game Beavers. Feel sorry for the Hogs because they had game #2 in the bag . . . but that's baseball.
