They just started showing up this week. So spraying this weekend is the plan. Thats all on the up and up? Is there a standard schedule to follow?

I bought "Bonide 202 Fruit Tree Spray, 16-Ounce". Do don'ts? Tips tricks? I told myself I was going to take better care of my trees this year. Thanks.

I have never used that, but have used Sevin on Japenese beetle's. Won't hurt the apples.

It'll work but contains two products I avoid. Malathion and carbyl both are long lasting insecticides that can be rough on bees. I assume the trees are out of bloom so the bees won't be actively on the trees. Just me but I look for the least impact shortest half life that can get the job done. Then spray at a time to least impact pollinators and bees. Mostly at dusk with zero to light wind to avoid drift. Also adjust the sprayer to avoid fogs or mists that are prone to drift.

BTW, Sevin is also rough on bees.

My preference for beetles is Spinosad. Also toxic to bees but less risk with a shorter active life.

The 202 has Captan which is a fungicide. Considered not harmful to bees though recent research shows fungicides in the hive negatively impacts the natural microfauna in the hives. Specifically the beneficial microbes that help break down pollens into bee bread.
