Call me crazy, but couldn't you call up this company and ask if they needed more castor?

http://www.trappersreport.com/story/NH_New-Beaver-Castoreum-Flavored-Whiskey

IF they grow, they'll need it. Right? And they won't know where to get it.

They know where to get it. There is no shortage of Castor in this state and there are a few individuals who have connections to get a truckload if they needed it.

Betting they trust their source for quality control and pay the price to go along with that.

Hopefully it will take off and castor will hit new highs.

I'm betting there Is not much castor used In that booze. If there was It would be un drinkable.
I got a small touch of some on my lip once and It's not a pleasant taste. LOL

I was going to say... still not sure how it fits with vanilla, since it smells like wet leather.

The French Trappers put a castor in their gin bottle.

I bet it makes a great cover scent 12 hours after consumption.

I don't think it adds flavor... I think it is used as a binder or fixative of sorts to meld the flavor chemicals together.

Maybe one of the lure makers can clarify for us.

I think it might fit right in to a single malt scotch. Already tastes like dirt.

Castor has been used as a flavoring for hundreds of years. It states in the article that is used for flavor.

Here's a little more info on the subject. It has been used in a Swedish drink (with vodka) for a long time.

I've had castor coffee before; a little different.

They said the caster from one beaver will make several barrels, so I don't think they will be buying much, and it is NH caster.
