Anybody use the stainless steel soap? Does it work?

Looking for a good way to have my hands not smell like fish after cleaning them.

My wife has one in the kitchen. I cant tell it works. If it did, why couldt I just rub my hands on the SS sink and do the same.

This is what I use when my hands get really bad.

Works very well. Also works on garlic.

I thought it worked before I lost mine. But I have since just switched to using the nitrile milking gloves from fleet. Started doing that when my kids were little and made it easy to pull the gloves off and help them with whatever it is they seem to need right after you get your hands dirty. Sure makes clean up quicker too. I think I might add a vinal apron to my box this year, I clean a lot at a fish cleaning station, I always seem to get the front of my shorts or shirt wet while cleaning.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Now I need to catch some more fish to give them a try.

I’ve always just used toothpaste as soap. Works

My idea is close to this.

Any dish soap with lemon in it will work.

I found this out after releasing muskies.

If it can take that smell off your hands it will work on anything!!

Here one I bet you never heard. Clean sand and water will cut the fire out of fish smells on your hands.

What kind of fish are you cleaning? I've never really noticed fishy smelling hands after cleaning them.

Walleyes and crappies mostly. Occasional northern if desperate. I don't really notice or mind the smell myself but before I come up the basement stairs my wife is yelling "you smell like fish". I swear she is part bloodhound.LOL

From the Internet...

When you touch stainless steel, the molecules in the steel bind with the sulfur molecules on your hands, thus transferring the molecules (along with the smell) to the metal and off from your hands. Presto! No more garlicky fingers. Stainless steel can also help remove onion or fish odors from your hands.

I like to clean fish as I catch them, and have found that Filamentous Algae, aka: Snot Moss works wonders on everything especially Catfish stink baits.
