I'm going to try bowing fishing this year. Anybody that does it have any recommendations on a good set up. I already have the compound bow. Thanks for any advice.

Are you looking to get a boat set up, or just the bow?

Old school here...I use my dads old rig every year for carp....I prefer a recurve over compound, for me I can get off a quick shot with the recurve....if your looking for a bow rig for compound look into a no drag bottle reel.....

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

AMS is what i use, and always use a slider on your arrow. 22 stitches on my chin and i learned my lesson.

There is no try or try not, only a coyote in the trap or not.

PSE discovery bow with AMS retriever and arrows with slider. It is a Compact package that has stabbed thousands if pounds of carp for me.

If you're just getting started and want to give it a try before you invest a bunch, you can make a spool with a plastic bottle. Look up diy bowfishing spool online for more information. That s what I used my first year and it worked just fine.

AMS bottle reel and a slide on the arrow. Whether recurve or compound, the bottle reel/slider is the way to go. Get three shots off while your partner is dragging line and you're not going to snapback and shoot your eye out.
