On the very brink of everything I've ever wanted.
I have a house in the country with an acre and a half for gardening and poultry... when I was a kid, I wanted to raise birds so badly, I should not be surprised that the simple act of gathering fresh eggs should be so satisfying. When I was a kid, I wanted to grow vegetables of every sort for fresh snacking... it never ceases to amaze me the joy I feel at picking a fresh tomato in the summer or canning our bounty with my wife.

I am a trapper, hunter and fisherman. Fairly proficient at each. Trapping has brought me the ability to grow in other hobbies like wood working and metal fabrication. Being an outdoorsman has afforded me the opportunity to meet and befriend some of the most genuinely kind and excellent people on this earth and I am fortunate to have known them all (even through interaction here on this forum).

I have a wonderful wife and two children that fill me with such pride (and gratitude) that I cannot even express except to say that I am sure many on here know what I am talking about.

We're not rich, but we eat every day, and my job is satisfying and challenging every day.

I don't know how I got here... the path has certainly twisted and turned since I left my high paying, union auto assembly job... but I sure am grateful for the journey so far.

So, I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank the good Lord, Jesus for bounty and grace (of which I am undeserving)

...and to all of you fine folks on here, who have unwittingly helped me through some dark times by sharing your stories on here AND to some of you for providing me with an example to follow to become a better person myself.

Well said Slydog .We live in a world where the prevailing attitude is often "I want it all and I want it now". I know sometimes I need to remind myself it is not how much I have but rather do I have what I need.

PCR, a visit would be a great opportunity to talk trapping, gardening and whatever else. I am committed to getting to a NTA rondy in the next couple years, or maybe the big one in PA. Just so darned busy at work lately that I can't hardly think to breathe LOL.

To be at peace with one's self. Is true happiness. I recall a bad health scare several years ago. I remember in the Month after that long surgery, I would wake up every morning at the crack of Dawn , to watch the Sun rise. And in the Evening, I would watch the Sun Set. For 30 Days and 30 nights. Just happy to be alive!
