Pretty good but you're off on a few facts. The Yom Kippur War was in 1973 and the Jordanians sat it out so the Israelis were fighting the Egyptians in the Sinai and the Syrians in the Golan. Nixon flew over bunches of back ends of F-4s and A-4s to rebuild Israeli planes not destroyed but badly damaged by close hits of fairly new Russian supplied SAMs as well as M-60 tanks to replace Israeli losses from T-72s and Sagger anti tank missiles. The Jordanians haven't fought against Israel since 1967 Egypt since 1973. The crazies are still to the north and northwest of them as well as in the Gaza strip. I wouldn't give up the Golan either...

Yes, you're right, technically it wasn't a "treaty." You caught me using the word loosely, carelessly.

Obama did make that international agreement, pursuant to his presidential powers over foreign affairs, with Iran, Germany, UK, France, Russia, and China. (Don't ask me why China was a party.) It was exactly the sort of international agreement made by prior presidents.

It was the same kind of agreement that Bush and Clinton made with N. Korea, which N. Korea breached.

It was the same type of agreement Trump will go seeking in Korea. I wonder what N. Korea will make of the breach of agreement with Iran?

The precedent is for new presidents to honor agreements made by prior presidents. Now that Trump has broken that precedent, we may well expect a future president to repudiate Trump's agreements. What goes around, comes around.

Or....maybe the legislative branch will do something to check the executive branch and the legislative branch will again ratify treaties.

The Ayatollah said "Why did they take away the Palestinians land to give to the jews? Why doesn't America give the jews a place that is uninhabited like a part of Alaska"? lol.

You are correct sir, it has been a few years since I read about both wars. I remember seeing a picture of an Israeli tank covered with sagger wires from the misses. It was during one of these wars that Arial Sharron(?)proved himself on the Egyptian border. Israel has to keep the Golan Heights.

Because the Bible says that Israel/Palestine belongs to the Jews.

Alaska belongs to Alaskans.

Anchorage belongs to Alaska. The rest of Alaska belongs to native corporations.

Wrong. You ignore the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, and follow-up legislation.

How were Native American claims to MN ever resolved?

Maybe we should do real treaties as it is written in the Constitution...? Oh that's right, whoever is the party in control or both of them get to pick and choose what pieces of that document really should be followed. All the rest is just a matter of convenience...

I think groups of people have been taking land from other groups of people since the beginning of time and it will continue until the end of time. Though the techniques appear to be changing it's still happening. We should learn to expect it.

NonPCfed, you have a point, but past presidents do seem to have accomplished good with these executive agreements, or whatever you want to call them. I'm sure the courts have a term to describe them, but I don't know what it is.
