Ok, who uses one? My wife is on my behind for not using one. I say I got this, it's all in my head. I do suffer from CRS @ times. I do try and cram as much into each day as possible and it impossible at times. Plus my Mom is expected to pass any day now and trying to keep things rolling is getting tough. Ole Sarge is about maxed out. But is a planner a good thing or just another thing to remember to check each day? Sarge

My phone has been a godsend! I just use the calendar and whenever I have a thing going on I put it in the calendar. If it is really important it gets an alarm, if it is less important it won't. I will generally check it once or twice a day, and that helps me to memorize what I have going, and whenever I talk to people about an event I just look at my phone and I can know what I have going that day, essentially the same thing a planner would do for you, but instead of a binder it is in your pocket on the device you are using for many other things.

I guess a phone would work. My wife is also on my behind about my outdated flip phone. I say as along as it works, don't try and fix it. But I suppose I will give in one day and get myself one of them fancy phones that do everything or almost everything. Old school ways die hard. it's taken years to get somewhat proficient with this computer thing a bob. I prefer doing my files and notes on paper. Drives the wife crazy come washday. Sarge

Without a daily planner I am goobely goop.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I use a weekly planner, 2 pages is a one week spread...Day minder is the brand. It doubles as an appointment book.

If I used a planner, I would probably forget where I put it. Bad enough trying to remember my phone......

On my office wall above my desk looks like a pin cushion from all of the thumb tacks holding notes and such. Every once in awhile the wife goes in there to look for something and comes out saying you go find it. I have a warning sign on my door saying Enter at your own risk. Same goes for the work shed.

I only forget the things she wants me to remember, they must not be important to me

I use outlook calendar on the computer and it is linked to my phone also. I have a personal and work calendar. I would never remember all of the things I have going on if I didn’t use a daily planner. It really does help. We also have a family calendar on the wall in the kitchen for what everyone is doing, so we can know what each other have going on. And can schedule family time better.
I hope you make it through with your mom. It is really tough losing a parent.

My mind hasn't been working too well lately with my Mom.I expect the dreaded phone call that is sure to come. She is strong willed. Fighting to the very end. Even the doctors and nurses are dumbfounded to her will to live. I have told her it's ok to go, but she's hanging on for something. She can't speak at this time, so communicating is tough. I work over 60 hrs a week plus daily chores. Not enough hours in the day. My plate is full. Sarge

Very similar situation, she wasn't expected to live as long as she did. That lady was tough as nails. I mean she had to be, she raised a Marine. It is very hard, my only advice is “family first”. Work and chores will always be there. Family isn’t. Your family will be in my prayers and thoughts Sarge.

A sister who left a huge hole, Best friends, grandparents, uncle's, aunts etc. Lost the ole man 14 years ago. Lost my beautiful Mama a little over a month ago and nothing compares, My angel. SGT, bless you, the road your traveling is a hard one. To (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) with everything else. My best to your Mama! May peace abide.

Thanks for the kind words. My lieutenant at work is the best. I can have all the time I need. He also believes family first and has and will give me all the time off I need. But I need stay busy or I'll go off the deep end. I work security in an ER at night and do ADC beaver work during the day. Helps to keep my sanity. Plus my wife can only take so much of me before she unloads. ALL 5'2 of her. Small but feisty.
My mother and father were and are very stubborn. My wife reminds me of the fact everyday. My first Sergeant in the Army at my first duty stationed commented that I was the most stubborn SOB he had meet in a long time. Got myself into plenty of trouble. He also said I would make a good soldier one day due to being stubborn. Something about not giving up when my mind is set. He was right. I suppose I got that from Mom and Dad. Sarge
