I don't hate 330's, but i have trapped enough beaver to know that a foot trap is the way to go. I hope to hit the river for the first time in several years and 330's are the way to go, but I do sneak a few 9 ft drowning rods along after the first trip down. Those few foot traps are almost always full, unless they miss the trap. I have had well blended 330's and foot holds side by side many times and usually the foothold comes in first, and normally has the older and bigger beaver as well.
River just opened up here and it should settle down soon. Can't wait to hit up those $10 over sized gophers, but have a few nuisance jobs that pay real money.

The water is flowing over the ice in some rivers as it hasn't come off the bottom yet. Ice jams are waiting to happen. Some creeks have no flow at all . Your bigger rivers do, though. When I say river, I mean twenty feet wide or better, or labeled thusly on a map around here. Creeks, cricks, and brooks aren't flowing very well .

Local buyer is going to be giving I believe 10-12 on the carcass. Paying for the meat and castor for the most part is what he said as he has pen fox and coyotes.
I can trap pocket gophers for $4 bucks a pop now and can get 15-30 a day if i try. Set about 30 traps last night for a cow farmer plus he throws in a dollar or two. Money to be made a lot easier on the gopher, but just something about beaver I like.

Well, if you just had to throw them in a pile in your driveway, to get them out of your truck, it would still be about 200% below production cost, and less than what the castor is currently going for.
