LOL I remember as a kid buying them for .50 for a box of 50 short federals. No paperwork to sign but was asked if my Dad said it was OK. Think was around 1960.

I found 2 boxes of .22's the other day that were marked .97 cents each. But I don't remember where or when I bought them. Does that count?
B In 1992 I was 7 years old and got my first 22. Remington Thunderbolts were $0.97 per 50 round box at Walmart. I was paid $2 to cut our grass and $2 to cut my grandparent’s grass. Ammo prices mattered more to me then that’s for sure. I wonder if yours are approximately the same age?

in 92 I was 14 I was working for a farm and construction company , the boss gave us bricks of thunderbolts for Christmas the price tags still on them 9.95 a brick
I bought the hardware store out of 30-06 that year at 7.49 a box of 20 for Winchester , I just wish I would have kept buying them out when the price went up to 10 dollars , I still have some of that 150gr Winchester 30-06 in 26 years I have't touched the scope on that rifle just take 3 shots to verify it is where it should be and go hunt.
for the kids , when I say I bought them out , I took my money and rode my bike to the hardware store and purchased 30-06 ammo then rode home with my ammo 2 boxes every time I got paid till the price went up.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I buy bulk and cheap for anything I use much of. Have bricks of Win .22 LR marked $5.99 ea, and using the last of the Alcan 12 ga #6's @ $.79/box on sale, back in mid 70's. NO LIMIT! LOL Cleaned out every store in the county.

My uncle just died found some 300 savage rounds that were bought at target. Never new they sold ammo no price tag on them but there old a different box was 6.99 they are 30 + a box now Many moon's ago K-Mart, Target' etc had decent sporting goods dept's, but they went down the crapper. Haven't the inside of them in decades.

I was digging around in my reloading room and found a couple of boxes 50gr. Rem. bullets. They are marked 3.20 a hundred. I am thinking they are from mid to late 60's. Anyone remember when bullets were that cheap? I don't know if I have any that were that are marked. But I have a couple thousand .17 25 gr rem bullets still. I also have some Sisk .17s both 20 and 30 gr Sp. I have a little stuff rat holed yet. Some I don't know I own. Rally, the OP was talking about bullets, not fishing sinkers that will fit your rifle.
