When I worked in the Apgar area of Glacier National Park years ago Going to the Sun Highway was closed 3 times that June and July because of deep snow, I did get to drive it for Father's Day before another storm came through closing it again. It was funny watching folks cuss and complain about all the snow and cold during the "Summer Months" here in Montana. Allan

Should be some serious runoff this spring if it thaws all in one shot, maybe the freeze/thaw cycling might prevent some of that.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Yep lots of water coming this year. June rise will be continue through end of July this year for sure. It is amazing to see all that snow in July. You take off your long johns on July 4th and put them back on July 5th.
I haven't been through there for a few years now but always interesting to see.

My memory of Glacier National Park is a train ride through there in February on my way to Fort Lewis, WA back in the day. Saw lots of deer and elk.
I remember hearing on the old Paul Harvey show where he said visitors to the park were supposed to wear little bells while hiking to alert the grizzly bears and watch for bear scat. Bear scat was easily recognizable by the little bells in it.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

Spending time with your kids in the woods, is far better than any vacation!
