Like my Ruger Blackhawk in 45 colt.

I got myself a Remington 1911 bout 3 years ago. My first 1911. I really like it. Very nice trigger, but just a basic set up. Had a couple of jams n the first 150 rounds, but no hiccups since then. Fixed sights, but I paid about $550, so you have some $$$ to fix it how you like. Dennis

The op never did say whether .45 rimmed or rimless, or did I miss it. Rimless Kimber, Springfield, Glock in that order. Rimmed, S&W X frame 460. I like Ruark,s way of thinking " use enough gun ". If I remember correctly you can even shoot those anemic .454 loads in them lol. I'm satisfied with my .500 S&W Mag. from the performance center. Definitely enough gun!

No you didn't miss it, I didn't know there was such a thing? The op never did say whether .45 rimmed or rimless, or did I miss it. Rimless Kimber, Springfield, Glock in that order. The rimless cartridges are mostly the .45 acp. and the.45 winchester magnum. The rimmed cartridges are .45 long colt, .45 auto rimmed .454 casul, .460 S&W mag & the .45-70 government, although it is technically a rifle cartridge and is loaded with a .458 bullet vs the .4515 in the pistol cartridges. But since the 45-70 is chambered in magnum research BFR revolver, and various single shot pistols it fits the discussion. I'm sure I missed some like the .45 Webley but it is obsolete and the others are common or at least available.
