I just read the parkland students just returned back to school after their March and a week off for spring break.

Now they are crying the new security measures that were put in place makes them feel like they are in jail.

Spoiled kids that cry they want to feel safe but yet want their freedom of not being watched.

This does not surprise me.

They had issues before that happened it sounds like!

They want their rights but want to take away ours.

Typical of the attitude I see in people on a daily basis.

Typical they have a idea and no clue what the end results would be!

Just more proof they act before they think things through.

I bet they believe if there was no guns school would be safe.

They also found a deputy sheriff sleeping while on duty at the school. Amazing leadership.

Change isn’t easy. Getting shot at, then insulted by adults who don’t know they should be supportive, instead of bullying, all takes it’s toll. A week of spring break doesn’t heal such wounds. My son committed suicide 20 years ago. It took years for us to feel whole again. These kids are going to hurt psychologically for a long time. Give them space. Give them time. And give them your support. They need it to heal.

It seems to me that each generation is taking longer to wake up to what the real world is like.
Things like the ability to stay on ones parent's health insurance until one is 26 (dang near middle-aged!), the message being sent is that personal responsibility need not be a priority.

If they wanted sympathy they should of never attacked millions of law abiding gun owners.

They don't get none from me for going on a country wide rampage trying to destroy our freedom rights.

The victims will be remembered for what?

No one wants people kids or adults shot at or killed but you attack the problem head on and go after who or what was at fault.

The law enforcement and their own public school was at fault. Not the millions of law abiding gun owners. The liberals used them for their agenda so go blow smoke up them for hurting them more.

I understand grieving but grieving should not involve what they did. They got use to the attention and traveling around. And now they are back in school and they are missing the attention.

Give them support for a gun ban ?

We were discussing this the other day and I wondered why the kids think that just making more gun laws in going to fix everything. And my wife said something that I think bears repeating. "We taught them that. They have been raised in a world where the answer to everything is to make another law. Some one gets hurt riding a bike, make a helmet law. Someone gets offended by a flag, make a law. It isn't really their fault that they think this way."
Unfortunately, they will probably have to learn the hard way that not everything can be fixed with laws. Evil dwells in the hearts of people and until that changes, more laws will never stop murderers.

One of the boys that was yammering for more gun restrictions, was balking at the new backpack restrictions. Saying something about it infringing on his backpack rights!

Give them support? By giving up my rights? Don't think so.
Maybe I could sympathize with them a little if they were interested in a thoughtful, intelligent discussion, but that doesn't draw tv cameras.

We need more university-educated brainiacs, obviously. We need more safe-places-safe spaces.

Give them space? For what? Their leader is all over media. He doesn’t seem to mind the attention at all. If some of them want to play in the adult arena and lead boycotts against individuals who express disagreement and then hide behind the “ he’s a child” cover when the tables are turned? Nope! Some snot nosed kids deserve to be insulted, not supported! Speaking of bullying...their school produced that monster...maybe they should own up to it!

Somehow being a victim makes a child a expert in things he never knew before just like making a movie makes you a expert in real life!
