For you Idaho Trapper’s that aren’t ITA members and don’t recieve my monthly emails. What units do you have wolves in that need to have trapping opened? What restrictions are hampering you? I’m gathering info to work with fish and game commissioners. Thanks Rusty

If your a Nevada resident they won’t let you trap wolves here due to Nevada’s nonresident laws.

If Nevada allowed nonresidents to trap then you would be able to

Unit 22 would be my choice just because I elk hunt there and know my way around. See and hear plenty of wolf sign too. It's currently private land trapping only. My guess is that is because 22 is also managed as a trophy bear unit so maybe they're trying to avoid incidental bears and/or bear hounds. If that's the case I get it. Hound hunters need their space too.
Speaking of wolf trapping classes, they may need another bug in their ear about that. Currently there are no available classes listed. Some times people need to plan ahead to get to them.

On the certification classes in Idaho, call one of the regional offices or headquarters in Boise and request a class. I believe they need a minimum of 8 people on the list, and a class will be arranged.

Rusty, kudos to you for working together with F4WM. My suggestion would be get the word out on this organization. They are doing great work in controlling the wolf population. Keep after em!
I would love to help out but the logistics are a roadblock for me.
