I'm curious to see how many of you fellas like the ARs and how many like the AKs, I'm more of a AK guy myself
Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

Or AR-10 in 7.62... I’ve never shot an AK so I can’t really make an informed decision. I am personally a better shot with the Mini-14 because that is what I’ve trained the most with. Although I want a Springfield M1A. I say get a few of each.

I Have Chinese Romanian Russian Polish
They are tough weapons that can get in the mud and keep firing Trust me I've had them in the mud
I like tools that can get dirty and keep working

7.62x39 fits an AR-15 Lower...doesn't need to be AR-10 unless you were talking x51. True. Everyone should have a few of everything and find what works for them depending on what they want to use it for. America!

I like my AR a bit more precise than the commie bullet hose
I suppose it has it's place when you need a bullet hose.

X2 Personally I don't own an AK and have no real desire to. My brother has a couple and they are decent guns for what they are just not my style. If I need a bullet hose I have other guns in my possession that will fit the bill if called for

Built AK's for years out of kits... East German, Polish, Romanian, Yugoslavian, and they all were functional, some even accurate, but preferred the Polish kits...Used to bend flats into receivers, the whole 9 yards...By far the best AK was the China made Norinco milled receiver polytech legend IMO...But for all the AK is, give me a Colt M4 anyday, anytime over any of them.

the Norico had the benefit of being made on all new machinery in the 90s , it's the best of them but still crude sights , a short sight radius and an awful trigger.

They all have their ups and down sides. As a boat paddle, fence post, steak tenderizer or paperweight, the AK wins hands down. ease of maintenance as well. Install a new length of baling twine if it fails and you are good to go again. They go bang when totally covered in mud as well. I don't want to cary a bucket of mud around with me all the time though.
Now hitting stuff you point the thing at, the AR is the clear winner.

If things go bad ammo should be readily available for either gun most likely! They make the AK in a .223 version also but would rather lug a AR around.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
