dont know y but it wont let me post to the trappers shed forum but that being said, id like to buy some scrap lead for bullet making for my 32 caliber crockett squirrel rifle id prefer not to spend more than $1 per pound if i can help it. any kinda soft lead will do wheel weight roofing lead etc.

Might try a local tire shop for some free wheel weights. I do it all the time. Nowaday's tho you get a lot of Zinc, which will still work OK for fish weights/jigs, jug/trot line anchors. But an head shot Squirrel will not survive. LOL

Go to the scrap yard and get soft lead.That is what I do and then I get the alloy I need to mix what I want.I would not deal with WW because of too much zinc is show up in it.

Wheel weights are not pure lead. They are great for centerfire cast bullets but not for round balls. You need pure lead. .310 or .311 balls are so cheap I would never bother to cast them, but to each his own.

When you think you found some lead....just make sure you can put a fingernail mark in it,and you'll be all set .
