FIgured I'd share a few pics of the boy's water line and a few of my own after wrapping up fox season here.

We didnt do a helluva lot to be honest. I was back to work and his weekends off didnt line up much with my days off this February. but he got his first otter with just a few days left in our permit beaver otter season. He had a tough run on beaver since the spot I had for him, we really needed to access by kayak and we couldnt do that on the major ice we saw this season here. But the otter was what he wanted and he connected on a bank hole on a 27 pound male that went 42 inches on the board without really pulling on it at all. Mine from the first week of the permit season was a tad lighter but stretched to 42 inches as well. Two big male weasels for us this year.

We added a few coons late after I saws they still looked good at work one night. The run on coons this year is pretty nice and its too bad on the market. Most are 3xl and a few 4xl with the smallest one we didnt release at xl.

Rats here glanded up by the first of February and while we had a pretty good run for here on our granite, limestone rivers, size was great but the biting came on by February 1 too. Quite a few 17 inch rats and even a few 18 inch rats. A few winter and spring rats that even walleyed would approve of lol.

We snapped a few photos of some long hair as I get it ready for pickup Saturday. Still about a hundred fox to go in the freezers but we're moving along.

He wanted a shot with his first ever coyote and my red one. This coyote rivals some of my fox for color lol.

We dont separate our fur and we go by averages after sale, but he wanted a shot with a representative shot of what he caught this year on his Christmas snareline.

Ugliest fox of the year award lol.

And not without my mishaps...GOt nailed by a savageau 330 late this winter and then as luck would have it I get pinched by a 160 muskrat trapping on the EXACT spot on my nail as I did with the Savageau...dang that was smarts and its still numb on the tip a few weeks later.

And in this storm that layed waste to my area last friday, I had a tree hit the shed..so I go out to check on things and I heard him immediately..It takes a real set of stones for a 2xl coon to be in my fur shed on his own volition, lol.

So we're shipping out about 70 more reds for this auction along with some coyotes, not his first or my red one with about fifty rats and some mink and coons. I'll look to get some beaver and more reds to FH next month. Thanks for looking!

Nice pictures Mud. BTW...you can forget about 18" rats down here. Sorry. Plenty otters though with no permit needed.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Yeah I kinda figured that those marsh rats down there wont be what we're used to here, but we're not used to numbers of them here Morg. Brok it to the boy that mink are gonna be a thing of the past too But he's got a new backyard to look forward to, lol. He was ok with the compromise lol.

Thanks Pcr I'll pas it along.
You got more otters on your side of the river over there in 3D than you can shake a stick at. I didnt go over this year but two kids next street over did and they both tagged out by midweek.
One of the regrets I have is the book of experience and spots I have over there and in Vermont. I wont run up here anymore after next season and its tough turning the page on those spots and my special farms over here. But new challenges await and I look forward to learning all over again down there.

Outstanding!! I think most Jersey folks would be surprised how much wildlife is in your state. Very cool!!

P.S. That red yote was sort of spooky looking. I don't think I'd want that for a wall hanger...
