Got some flak from first video I did showing my drags in action for various reasons . This is just one if my FOX ( a much smaller size the my regular ones ) drags. The purpose of this isn't to say mine or the best or that you need to switch over to drags or anything like that. It's simply to show what a good one will do. Now this is MY environment, and works for ME.

make mine out of heavy stock 1in. through 2in. foot wide use 1x1/4 or 1x3/8s flat stock bent down and sharpened for points but only 5 or 6 feet of chain coons don't move them coyotes are within sight they weigh about 10 to 14 lbs so you don't go far either kinda the railroad tie plate theory I like yours and have no problem with lighter ones with long chains except entanglement in the truck bed istart out nice and neat and before you know it it looks like a bomb went off how do you handle it I've wrapped chains around the drag wired them up kept chains on the trap and attached the drag just driving around turns everything into a solid mass

Jeff K. Wrap chain around the T part of the drag, then push the post part of the drag between pan and jaws. I started Zip Tying mine in down near the T and trap to eye on my stakes. I use JC Connors and some home made works the same. Of I don't do the zip ties mine looks worse than a backlash on a bait cast reel. a very bad back lash.
