I didn't stay till the end so this is more opinion, I sold all my stuff all my coyotes in one lot-69, all cats in one lot 200 one lion 250 I sold the red fox in two lots 19 for the undamanged and a few other furs----------the cat market is a hard sell on the lesser goods and but there were $1000 cats so NAFA was or is a good indicator of the fur market. They bid my two 60 inch beaver at 3 so I gave them to the girl that was working the kitchen! I"ve got a couple beaver to catch so that's where I'll be in the morning! It's a good time yo be a trapper!!

I thought your cats would have brought more Tom

God didn't say it would be easy. He just said it would be.

I thought so to it was my own fault, they were half of last years. I'am never going to curse the coyotes for getting in my "cat" sets again!!

The way I read Tom's post, his coyotes averaged $69,00. He doesn't say how many. That is a nice price!! smile

Does anybody have the sale averages yet? I think you did pretty good Tom! Especially on the coyotes!

I don't sort them into piles they all go together sick, lame and lazy--------there were some guys that hit over 100 and some couldn't get a bid! I 'am happy with the coyotes I sold they were from Nov through Feb threw away rubbed and mangy had a great season there are a lot more cougars here than game & fish will admit to had fresh mountain lion for xmass dinner! Trappers have the best deal going----people I talk to just can't believe we can catch these animals they equate it to some kind of magic!!

I didn't stay for the entire sale but "while" I was there 69 for coyote was definitely not the average. I got 30 and felt good about that after seeing what most were going for. I left happy, got gas money for next year

I was there almost to the end of the sale, and I averaged 47.50 on my coyotes. The bobcat average varied quite a bit. Some went for over a 1000.00 but the overall average wasn't good at all. There were quite a few "NO SALES". One of the bidders was wanting more length on the cats.

sale average on cats was $217 and coyotes was $37. Considering that we offer fur from almost Mexico to Colorado the quality varies greatly. In my opinion it was a successful sale and thanks to all who worked hard to put the sale on. Now I have to go catch some more!

I'm glad Tom brought it up about the people who make these sales work. I hadn't thought about all the time they put into this with no pay. This was my first sale and not everyone leaves happy but they do it every year. Thank you New Mexico trappers association!
