They sold 1452 of them @ an average price of $391.78 for the cats sold

Top Lot was 10 @ $2400

Second Top Lot was 14 @ $1425

Excluding the top lot 81 sold for $1000 or more the average for these 81 was $1195.37

Including the top lot 91 sold for an average of $1327.45

These numbers are as accurate as my typing allows.

Top 100 averaged $1283.65

Bottom 100 averaged $77.84

Top 10% (140) averaged $1177.14

Bottom 10% (140) averaged $84.15

You thinking what Im thinking? We should set our traps to only catch the top 10% of lynx cats graded west? Then it would be cake and gravy all the time!

only 42% sold? that was the "A" colored to. all the"B" or worst were bought back. so that's an average of the best of the best. if there was a way to average everything with bought back ..pt.. ect. the western cats I bet the average would be below 200 for the sale average.

Agreed that's how I am looking at this sale

Now the report clearly states they sold 75% of the fresh goods, so in all reality they may have only had 28 fresh cats and sold 21 of them. All the rest were carry overs and not part of the equation.

Still wonder what constitutes an A or AB cat everytime I sell I hear a different story or see a different grade.

And let me guess . . . the only consistent part of the story is that whatever you happen to have at the time is NOT an A, right?

Nope, you guy out west need to start killing only the low grades. Let the good ones walk. That will force the price up on low grades and in a few years all that's left will be the good ones.

Yeah your right there being a private buyer, Fur harvesters, Nafa they are never quite right, I know Wy cats might not mount up to Nevada but we have some good cats my good year was 22 cats and not one was an A

Total Western 1452 x 391.78 = 568,864.56
Excluding top lot 544,864.56/1442 = 377.85
That's not a whole lot better than recent TA sales.

Whatever happened to the ones bought back last year. Does NAFA still have them in storage, or did most go PT?

I had carry overs sell this auction, b bellies put with a's or c's, both ends of the spectrum. Still have bought backs for the second time.

I was going through some old sales did they replace 1 and 2 with A and B on cats? What does rd mean on cats can't find it in the in the grades.

A B are FH same as 1 2 at Nafa rd is for red

I didn't have one #1 belly and sold 6 out of 7 cats for a $275 average. A little disappointed but I didn't have the best cats this year.

So what are you saying then about the market ? Good for you that your cats sold lots of folks did not.
My statement was a bit more in general way Trav the middle of the road stuff sold cheap if they did at all.
B bellied being middle of the road.
