2 ranches means there is always something needs done that requires an extra hand or two.

I sell sewage pumps and toilets for a living. Trapping is going to be my extra income. I've also been able to find free stuff on Craigslist such as T.V.s and couches in good condition that people want gone due to moving, and resell them for $$.

My uncle installs sound recording studios for a living, that may be what the media room is. Lots of rich folks that know a couple guitar chords get them installed. I dunno.

There is no such thing as extra income. My income is a collection of sub-incomes. Income is all inclusive within a fiscal year. What I need is an indefinite fiscal year.
