Now I can figure out most angles of a scam or the games being played but this has me stumped big time. I get calls on my cell from Resort Rewards it's always a spoofed SD number, anywhere from 1-4 times a month it seems. If you try to ask questions like, "What one did I stay at" they just keep talking and won't stop so they really don't mind ticking a guy off. If you cuss them out they just keep talking like you never said a word to them. That seems so odd.

What is their endgame obviously I'm never buying anything from them and if they crossed the road in front me no skid marks would be found. So what is the deal they must get paid for the time on the phone if they make a sale or not is the only thing I can come up with here. They never get to ask for any info and they sure are not getting any either.

Who else gets calls from these idiots I'm already on the do not call list so don't go there. LOL

Those scammers will stop at nothing . Do not call list is a joke to them! The aggravating one , is the one where they call, you pick up the phone and say Hello, 2 or 3 seconds of dead silence go by, and then you hear this ring tone. Right away, I know it is one of those scammers calling.

I don't know how they are doing it, but occasionally I hear on the News about some innocent person having the Police rushed to their house, kicking down the door. Somehow, the scammer is calling 911 , making it look like the phone they are calling from , is not their phone, but someone else's phone.

Some scammers are recording you and will try to get you to say yes. Then they take that yes and make there own recording to make it sound like you were agreeing to something.

When I get asked "Is this EdP?" I always try to answer "It is."

When I get a call from a number I don't know I "pick up the phone" but remain silent. If it is one of those voice activated calls they hang up in a few seconds.

How you respond to a phone is a choice. Don't be one of Pavlov's dogs.

Since I became a retired taxidermist I get numerous calls per week, sometimes numerous calls per day, from Google. They always (recording)tell me my business listing has not been verified, etc., etc., etc. I have waited long enough to hear what number to push to be taken off their list, then pushed that number dozens of times....and they still call. I've even pushed the other number so a real person comes on the line and told them off. It makes NO difference whatsoever.....the calls continue. How in the heck do they get away with that crap. Wish I could sue them into receivership.

I get around 20 bad calls or bad texts a week. Most calls are for things like renewing your vehicles warranty, renewing appliance warranties, join a gym, make your computer faster or donate money to a cause. The texts usually try to get me to clink on a link, send personal information or receive a call from a deaf person, using an operator, by entering codes. I would guess a legitimately deaf person would just text.

It is easy to block numbers on my cell phone, so I block every number I receive a bad call or text from. It seems to make no difference in the numbers of bad communications I get though.

I also block weirdos who want to buy something from me, in response to one of my ads. Last week I had someone text me to know what the "adoption process" for a dove entailed. They wanted to know acceptable forms of payment, how many home visits I do, do I do surprise home visits, how many vet references I required and what medications and vaccinations the dove needed. I thought about responding "To buy the dove you give me $20.00, take it and go away." I just blocked their number instead.

I put the ATT Call Protect app on my phone a few weeks ago, has knocked down a lot of those calls.

For the past two years I’ve been getting calls from numbers almost the same as my cell number. Usually one of the last four digits changed. Nothing I can do can get them to stop calling. I too have no idea what they hope to gain from it. I tried calling the number back one time and got a lady I completely believed had nothing to do with it. Talked to IT guy and he said that was old news ... scammers can make it look like they are calling from whatever number they want. I’ve messed with them and they definitely CAN get ruffled as they finally caught on and told me to go make love to myself and slammed the phone down. I see any call with my same first three digits that’s unknown and don’t answer anymore. But they still continue to try.

A fun way to mess with them is once you realize it's a scammer is to say "It is done put the money in the same spot." Or "The body is hidden." Or a combo of both.

Got me looking at Apps and found RoboKiller. It’s a pay service after free trial but it sounds kind of fun. Read some of the reviews and it sounds like you send unknown calls to voicemail and the app routes it to their bots that sound convincing enough to waste a bunch of the telemarketers time. You can go back and listen to the recorded conversations.
Anybody ever try it?

I dont answer a single call from a number i dont recognize. If it is important, the caller will leave a message.
Alot of these calls are just to find out if the number is an active number. If you talk to them (even threatening them) they know the number is active. Then, they put your number on a list of active numbers and sell the list to other scammers and the cycle starts all over again.
Dont answer calls you dont recognize.

I will gladly feast on those who would subdue me.

Been getting them myself and gets frustrating but now they are "borrowing" local numbers to fool you into answering. Friend told me if you question the number, pick up the phone but don't say anything. If someone is there they will say something and if it's a robo call it'll disconnect. After a few times they will stop calling. Done it a few times now and it seems to be working....or it's just a lull.

I get ticked off when I get a call about a fundraiser for survivors of law enforcement personnel who died in the line of duty. I always ask them what percentage goes to the survivors, and I've had two different ones tell me 5% of the funds they raise goes to the cause. The other ones just hang up on me.

I must be doing something right. I've had my cell number for about 12 years, I think I may have received a half dozen telemarketer calls in all that time. I haven't had a land line in years; don't know many people who do.
Are you guys having this problem with land lines or cell phones?
