They're mammals. They don't see color.

Bobcats also have good peripheral vision and they see well in low light, since they are most active at night. Bobcats can also see colors, but it is believed that their ability to do so is much more limited than in humans...just googled
thanks anyways

When I was in graduate school 45 years ago the "knowledge at that time" was that mammals see light and dark shades of gray. Birds see in color. The thought was that birds fly and live in a more 4 dimensional world and need as much contrast as they can to fly around through their habitat. Mammals live in more of a two dimensional world and color is not as necessary. If birds didn't see color why would there be such brilliant contrasts in many of their plumages. If mammals see in color, why aren't more of them blue orange green or red? Most of them are shades of gray and brown. I think the more cones in their eyeballs the better they are at seeing color and the more rods, the better at night vision. Maybe it's vice versa! We can see color but it turns to shades of gray at night. Maybe that is why there isn't much bird activity at night but there is probably more mammal activity because color vision isn't possible at night?

I believe they are supposed to be able to see some blue and yellow, unlike what we used to think.

I've also read that cats probably see blues the best.

We don't have a clue as to what they can see, all speculation until one can talk to us.

I don't believe they do because if they did maybe we would not have these low value brown colors with no spots on the back or the black spots on the very white belly. You would think if they could see they would mate for the $700 pelts instead of the $70 ones like we have here in WI. lol
