An example is the tide pod eating. Years ago kids still did stupid stuff, it stayed localized and the death of an idiot or two didn't go across the country on Internet news. Now with Internet the idiots feed off each other. Years ago idiots played in the dirt with a stick until the Reaper and Darwin collected them, now they encourage other idiots to eat tide pods hundreds of miles away.
All in all I believe we live in a good place, our society is OK and we are lucky enough to inhabit earth at a time when it is very very easy to stay alive. No large wars or famine, today. Try stay positive.

There is something terribly amiss with that age group and personally I cannot say what it might be.
You see I watched every WWII documentary, the series "Combat", "The Gallant Men", "World at War" etc. as a young child (I will be 63 soon) and never wanted to take my Dad's guns out and shoot people.
My son will be 29 plays and has played every violent video game out there and hasn't gone out or thought about killing innocent people. With guns or by his own hand, he is a BIG man.

No value of human life. How many abortions now? Males are portrayed to be the “problem” violent ones but the “mothers” have set a pretty poor example. You’re corect in it’s not just one thing, one sex, it’s a widespread complete moral decay. Reap what you sow.

Males have no way to be men. Can’t hunt, trap, fight, lead, provide for, without someone or some group lambasting you that you’re so evil.

Trying to blur and eliminate he differences between males and females. And the roles of each.

Boils down to ignoring Gods way and wanting our own way. We’re all guilty to some degree.

All the above and I'll add...The population is so YUGE we've got more of everything, including psychos, lunatics, losers and miscreants. And they make the news. The family that raises good kids and cares for their community and their standing in it do not.

Parents not raising their children , my Wife use to be a school teacher. The High School in Washington state she taught at had a 70% rating of teens living in non custodial homes.

Children having phones and electronic devices from elementary age up. Remember having an Imagination ?

The more mobile we have become the less close knit we are. The industrial revolution brought rapid change and the technological revolution is bringing it even faster. As a society we can't keep up. That rapid change creates less stability, not more.

How many have the time to stop and smell the roses?

Liberal teachings begin in 1st grade now. Have you helped a child with homework lately? It's troubling....what they are teaching the kids.

Bottom line is this world needs Jesus! Without the love and grace that come through Him, it's not going to get better.

Both parents working. Kids are being raised now by the public almost from birth. As soon as Mom's maternity leave runs out, the kid is tossed into daycare, where they stay until they are old enough to get into preschool at 3 or 4. And at the times the kids actually are at home, the parents aren't raising them, they let video games, TV and the Internet baby sit them while they're doing cooking, cleaning, tv watching, whatever.

Single parent homes, about the same deal, but Mom or Dad have even less time to spend with the kids.

I was raised in the 80s and 90s. Single parent homes were pretty rare in my rural area then, and so was 2 working parents. Sometimes moms would go back to work once the kids got to be teen aged. I was raised in a single parent home from the time I was 5... BUT and it's a big but, my mom had a pretty good support system in place. My Dad stayed in my life and visited me 3 times a week, Monday and Wednesday evenings and most of the day Saturday, giving my mom the chance to do things like catch up on housework, laundry, baking, etc. In addition, my mom's parents lived right next door to us, I could run over there anytime I wanted, and they were happy to watch me anytime my mom needed them to.

Yes I watched tv and played video games, but being an only child, most of the time my mom was right there watching tv or playing the games with me. I'd help her cook or bake, had a list of chores to do for a small allowance, she'd help me with my homework, etc. At my grandparents, I liked helping in the garden, watching my grandfather work on stuff in the garage, and loved reading their old encyclopedia set, where I learned about everything from wars, to indians, to diseases. I was dragged to church on a regular basis, and read to from the bible by pretty much everyone, lol.

In other words, I was raised by family, not by electronics and school systems. I think the years from birth through 10 years old are the most important, and families today spend far too little time raising their children during those years.

The important teaching begins well before the kid ever walks through a schools door.
We have accepted baby-daddies and baby-mammas throughout every part of our cuture. Most girls/women are PROUD to be labeled a "single mother" and wear the label as if it's something that takes real effort to become.

Parents let their kids be raised by the technology they carry in their hand and many are too busy playing with their own phone to notice their kid is a nut case.

And far too many Americans are proud of the hatred they have for anyone who is different from them.
