You are doing good. When I was finishing fur, I was doing it, mostly, as a favor for some friends. When the market started to tank 3 years ago or so, I quit finishing fur because I could not see a benefit for them to send to NAFA (after finished) as opposed to selling carcass locally. I will still do my own, but I would be tempted to farm that out for what you are paying!

Just make sure you charge enough so he doesn't ask you again.

Done very nice, northern MN 15.00 per coyote, or,
With a good number, a final percentage from the sale price.

A cold coyote has to be about the worse thing to skin and I have a skinning machine. If they're shot, not trapped it's even worse. I don't think I'd do any more at any price. I've never found otter to be that hard to put up. I think fox are more of a pain in the butt. Beaver are easy if you have a nail gun. I learned long ago, a nail gun is a lot easier on your thumb than a hammer and nail! wink

Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.

The only people making money In the fur market are those that put up fur for others.
And you never work for a cut of the selling price. And In most cases you get your money before you start the work.
I wouldn't touch a carcass coyote for less then $15.00.
I spent a lot of time putting fur for others. I'm glad I'm done with that part of my life.
