Can anyone tell me about any if these knifes?

Helping a older lady out today and she got these out ( they are her deceased husbands) and asked me if they were worth keeping

First group I said " I think these have some real value"

Next two groups I told her some are probably nothing and some could be

Any info appreciated If you need close up pictures I can do that as I have them at my hôuse

Not an expert but the first group look to be WWI knives.

The second and fifth ones in the second picture look to be mora if I recall correctly. I have a few that were my grandfather's and I love them for hunting.

Probably some better steel in those knives than the ones made now.

Some of the older pocket knives can be worth a pretty penny to some.
If you can't find China stamped on it their a keeper.

On the 2nd photo, the knife above the bottom one appears to be a Utica Sportsman.

The most valuable of all of those knives is going to be the pocket knives in the bottom pic. Especially the Case” knives.

1st photo top left looks like a USN Mark 1 combat knife used in wwii, made by either Kabar or Camillus
Bottom photo top row, the big 2 blade folder is a Case Hunter, you can tell the year by the tang stamp.

first picture all the way to the right , looks like Fairbairn–Sykes fighting knife https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairbairn%E2%80%93Sykes_fighting_knife

more info https://www.fairbairnsykesfightingknives.com/wilkinson-p-3.html

this was a fighting style that bleded several knife fighting styles and was all about making a very fast quiet kill , OSS and Marine raiders could move silently through the night killing with great stealth.

Some of those knives are in kind of rough shape but many have some good value. All of them are worth something for sure. Do not try to clean them up with sandpaper or anything like that. A good coat of oil to prevent further rust and then take the time to thoroughly research them and you may be surprised. If need be, some Flitz and 0000 steel wool will clean them up as far as you would want to go. Patina on knives is good. I sell a lot of knives and will often leave the deep cleaning to the collectors who know what they are doing.

That folder in the left side of the top picture is intriguing. I have never seen one like that.

That one is sweet. It is a bayonet, but when folded it becomes a combat knife. I think I want that ones

The one I said was for a tommy gun.....some forums said don't exist. But I found out in 1938 they was a model with 45 colt or a longer cased 45 ( so not 45acp) that had a bayonet. This looks like that and is stamped "Thompson". So may be very rare

I would also advise putting a couple drops of good gun oil on the folding mechanisms of the folders. No idea of how long it has been since they have been lubed. Do not try to sharpen any of them. Sounds like you have some good ones in there for sure!

I am curious now to what her husbands story is. She probably doesn't know.

It is what it is.
