Today was day number 16 for my 3rd son (Conner) home sick. Started running a 103 temp two sundays ago it’s been bouncing around from 99 to 102 ever since. Been to the doctor two times now, they say its Mono! The kid looks terrible!! He has lost 13lbs which is a lot when you normally weigh 130lbs. It takes quite a bit for me and mom to get nervous, but we’re finally there. The last two mornings I’ve got a call from the princess (my wife) crying. 101 tonight trying to get him to eat. If you think about it before you go to bed say a prayer for him. We would appreciate it

I had mono when I was in high school. It was rough. I remember feeling like a Mack truck ram me over every day. I missed quite a bit of school. IIRC you have to be careful with mono because you can easily damage your liver.?.?. There was no sports or rough housing for a month or so.

Hang in there, my 9 year old threw up every day from thanksgiving until Christmas eve last year. Took her to the doc 5 times before we loaded her up and went straight to the ER and told them we weren’t leaving until somebody calling themselves doc started acting like one and come up with some answers. Don’t be afraid to bang on some doors and pizz some people off to get some answers.

Dang ! Prayers Sent
I'm thinking , unless you really trust your doctor , it may be time to see someone else . Maybe make a few calls first

As said above, more water than you can imagine. At least 9 BIG glasses a day. Flush out the fever.

Praying. Get him some sports drink or pedilyte in him. My mom used to use potato slices dipped in apple cider vinegar and wrapped in a bandana placed on his forehead. My oldest bro wouldn't break a high a fever in high school so she applied the above.
