Check out the prize offered; I'm pretty sure people in Washington, Oregon or California would come unglued if this raffle were to occur at public schools in those States. It's nice to see that there are still some sane places in this Country of ours.

Yep - on another note, they close school for opening day of deer season (on a Friday) because all the boys are out hunting with their Dads and families.

A church I used to attend bought several for a raffle a few years ago. I don't know about the schools though

A school around us did the same but for a bunch of guns. They also raffled off lifetime lisences.

All life demands a struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life.

I think they would here. I recently walked down the sixth grade hall at our school and the students had big posters on the wall for display. They had taken a survey and made a graph on the poster to display the results. There was one big poster on "Your favorite Gun" with a nice bar graph showing the results.

Here in central pa we have scholastic clay tgt shooting in the schools. We also have a dozen coyote hunting contests going on this and next month. Most all fundraising events have guns or money equivalent if u have trouble passing background check for the prizes. The wild game feed at the churches is going on right now too!

i dont know if our school would or not - we bypass the school by having unrelated 'boosters' that raise money outside the rules and regs of the school...but not without backlash.

There is always going to be someone that raises a fuss. we recently did a fundraiser for afterprom - we had a casino night at the local moose - people still made a fuss.

we do a spaghetti dinner and silent auction every fall before a football game to raise money for the marching band - people still made a fuss.

I'll be glad when my kids are done with this stuff.

Pretty normal with parent groups. A lot of bickering. I hear you.
