Hey everyone I haven’t done very much beaver trapping at all but I have a property I land trapped in and the river runs through it and on some of the points sticking out into the river I’ve found some chew sticks so my question is how do I catch these beavers? What’s the chances of me actually catching them?

The beaver are on the move. Castor mound sets really shine.

MO> loosened up on their 330 regs.no longer need to be fully submerged.Take some 330s and go play in the mud. Make some castor mounds and put your 330 out front. Tom

Grab some of the Bosses ( Backbreaker) and go to town. Set up wind and they'll find it.

Make your sets wherever's easiest for you. Like Pinedog said, they'll find .

Should I make castor mounds on high banks or level banks? I always went up wind where the sun was hitting the bank for the best results, where you can set the trap in more important that what the "mound" looks like. A stick stuck in the dirt with a gob of lure above a slide is often my "mound"!

zthhunter - If you can catch those canines you will quickly catch those beaver. Set on sign. My two cents learn to set a #5 type foothold at a castor mound that you make next to a slide the beaver is already using. Can't go wrong with Backbreaker. Best thing about catching beaver is you got all you need to make some good bait to catch more canines.

The beaver are on the move. Castor mound sets really shine. They may be moving but here they are under 30 inches of ice. LOL

Funny thing--I pay no attention to wind direction. A castor mound is like" the field of dreams"--build it ,and they will come. Tom

Beavers are great for building confidence set some castor mounds with with 330s just be carfull if u make to many sets u may have more than u want to skin quick P.s. bosses Backbreaker is the single best beaver lure on the market in my opinion. I got beaver 38 of the season today with Backbreaker. That's why its called Backbreaker because ur gonna catch enough beaver to break ur back carying them out lol.
