Check out these hollow point segmented long rifles. They come subsonic or high speed. Tried the subsonic on water filled milk jugs.
Took the jugs off the fence post with much more power than I would think a slow mover would create. And they are quiet. Half the bang of a regular long rifle. See the articles in Fur Taker magazine.

Big skunk thanks I have not seen them yet. I wish the stinger was a little easier to find. They go in and don't come out. Love the 22lr.

Are you sure? They haven’t updated their website yet. If they did, that stinks.

Are the fast ones something different than the old quick shocks ?

As of this past season, mine too. Very quiet with a can, stunning accuracy (for what it is) from the 452 American, and after decades of using subsonic lead hollw points on thousands of nut munchers, my assessment (after a fair trial of around 30 this year) is that the segmented bullet makes this time tested round noticeably more effective on that 2” or so of “contact” with a squirrel. On a side head shot, no clear exit hole is the norm, just 1/2 of a head of jelly. And that’s from a subsonic round. Very favorably impressed.

I have not tried the higher velocity segmented, and I have not used the subsonics on anything beyond targets and gray squirrels.

Yep they stay inside and less damage than a regular hollow point. Same bullet as the high velocity round. The high velocity round messes a squirrel up pretty bad. I have hunted both rounds a lot and for coon and squirrels only use sub-sonics now.

I still like the old plain lead 40 grain long rifle. No sense fixing what aint broke. Squirrel gravy and buttermilk biscuits. MMMMMMM good.

These are going to be perfect for chest shot dispatch on coyotes. I’ve used the higher velocity ones for years.

Being they are based off the standard mini mag they ought to work and cycle better in most firearms.

I would not be afraid to shoot a fox up to 50 yards away and anchor them with these rounds. They do a great job on releasing their energy into 3 different wound channels.

Was at Brownells yesterday, they are $7.99 a box of 50 there. Anyone finding them for a decent price?

On a side note for cheapo's like Bob, lol. They had CCI Blazers, 40gr. for $22/500 on the shelf.

I just bought a Brick at Acadamy Sports online. Less than $6 per box if 50.
They are awesome on dispatch for everything I caught this year.

Quick shock bullets have been around for some time. I imagine they are the same type of bullet. I used them for a while just too much velocity shock for dispatch work.

I put down all my coyotes with a 22 short in the vitals. Works great with good placement.
