Asa trained John and they worked side by side for years before Asa gave his blessings to John with the business. The lures are exactly like the ones Asa made and the wolf lure was one in the works before the business was transferred. Asa had a part in it with John. Believe it or not they also have a skunk and Possum lure that I never knew existed. I use mainly Lenon lures and will continue to. Don't worry about quality, it is there and John is a great guy.
Wish I had more time to trap....

a business transfer that was done the right way in my opinion.he didn't just sell him a book full of formulas,he taught him the business and honestly i think he wouldn't have sold it unless he was confident in Mr Chagnon.good part is we still get to pick Asa's brain on here and hopefully he has more time to pass on his wealth of knowledge to us.

Asa will be helping an influencing Trappers and Lure Makers until the day he dies. Yes he sold and transferred me the Business three years ago. We have placed many ads in Trapping Publications informing customers of the change. Also every bottle from day one made by me has my name and family on the bottle. Trapperman was the first place the change was announced "After we checked with Mr. Dobbins" and the website continues to be updated with Lenon Lure instruction, products, information, and pictures. I have so much information to share in the future on the Lenon Lures Website with the trapping public that Mr. Lenon shared with me. I have to make more lure every year as the brand continues to grow despite a depressed fur market. Many thanks to the thousands of customers that reorder every year, some for over a half a century. For current information about Lenon Lures and a list of all the Trapping Supply Dealers that carry Lenon Lures go to www.lenonlures.com

Good to know Mr. Chagnon. I still have some of Asa's lures from years ago, mostly beaver and bobcat that I never got a chance to use. I like that you kept the business name.
Eh...wot?

Will echo all the good replies on John and Lenon's lures. Met John at Evart a couple years ago and he's top notch. I have to say that most lures I use are Lenon's and they are all top notch. His muskrat lure is my favorite- one smell and you want to spread it on toast.............
