I've only been trapping a couple of years and not in a big way. I'm interested in tips on coyotes/cats. My trapping is in the midwest (Missouri) so western trapping probably won't be of much help. If you were only going to buy a couple of books/videos which ones would you recommend? Thanks for any feedback.

Mark June has a coyote trapping book, I believe he has a dvd also. I’ve heard they are good.

I'm a workin on a possum video as we speak lol.

Has anyone ever watched Randy Smith's video "Combines and Coyotes"? I like watching all of the dvd's, but the western ones just don't do much for me. The terrain and soil is just so different.

I have the Combines and Coyotes video and I think it is excellent. I have watched it several times and have employed some of Randy's info with very good results. I don't think you would be disappointed. I also have and like JC Conner's video on flat sets.

1st DVD I ever bout was Junes coyote trapping Volume #1, and as a result it caught me my 1st coyote and many more to follow. I have watched several DVDS since, and for my personality, I enjoyed Junes teaching method the best and therefore got the most out of it. Best $40 I ever spent on trapping.

LB, I have heard great things about Randy Smith's video "Combines and Coyotes", it has been in my fnt wish list for a while, I will own it one day, too many great trappers on here have reccomended it.

I've read June's book and have the DVD. Enjoyed both and plenty of knowledge. I bought "Animalistic: Rattlin Chains" by Darin Freeborough and it was really good too. Ed Schneider's book "One Square Mile" is really good. A book I bought recently as a recommendation was Dobbins "Land Sets and Trapping Techniques" and it's been a good one too. Fact is, you can learn a little something from all of them. Good luck in your search.

Just want to see a video that has freeze proofing, wet clay, mud, and all the stuff that comes with eastern trapping. Not just catches.
