Rifle 1 OP trapper R Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 350 ohio morrow co	The kitchen was last updated in the 50s The farmhouse was built in 1920 tore out the old cupboards and demoed the walls Put up drywall new wiring and insulation Had a amish guy make the new cupboards and island out of solid cherry Had another guy cut out the granite counter tops Put up 4x6 tile and grouted the joints for backsplash Where the old porch was there was not any hard wood floor so I put down 12x12 tile and grouted the joints Tore up 5 layers of flooring to get to the original hardwood floor. This took longer than the whole project stain and two coats of poly on the floor all done Project took about three weeks.Even got the wife to help.The only thing I did not do myself was build the cupboards and cut the countertops. Figure I saved about 12 thousand doing it myself . Wifes happy now Last edited by Rifle 1; 01/21/18 02:03 PM. getting ready for 53th season

trapper20 trapper Joined: Dec 2014 Posts: 2,239 SW WI	looks great. we bought an old farmhouse and totally gutted the whole thing about 5 years ago. did 90% of the work myelf and saved a ton, but it did take about 1-1/2 years to complete it. nothing like knowing you did it yourself
