So many of you know that eastern Montana has been dumped on as far as snow and cold is concerned. And with it comes misses, lots of Them. It seems that there is this one particular tom that likes to lurk around my sets right after a storm. I have now come up to a certain location 4 times when he has walked right on top of my trap checking Graham’s lures. But the problem? There’s about a foot of stupid snow on top everytime he decides to come through. I sweep it off and he won’t be back until the next storm. smirk laugh
And now I have another cat that is doing the same thing.
Sorry just ranting

Lol. I’d set a few snares on his tracks, when he comes back those snares will still be working for you.

Can you follow his track to a more sheltered less drifted in spot and put in some back up sets? Wouldn’t be out of the question to have a half dozen sets out just for that specific cat where he likes to lurk.

Ya maybe a rock wall, or under a cedar tree

Keep plugging kid,and sweeping those sets off. That snow won't keep up forever and they will be back. You have plenty of time left.

Yeah, I’m gonna work on some snares more today. I would follow his tracks but were I have him right now is the most sheltered area for miles.

Do you have any fallen cottonwood trees along your line to where you can build a cubby ? The half trees from lightning strikes draw them in also and provide shelter from the constant snow.

You could take a piece of sheep fence wire build a hoop over set put debris over hoop and presto a cover.
