Any one using the solar powered motion lights? what kind and how are they holding up? I'm actually thinking I'd like to put one in the out house I have at my property. Mount solar panel somewhere out side with motion light coming on when you go in.
There is small security type motion light on the house my son bought this summer. It comes on when you walk up to the door. Is not so bright and don't seem to have much run time. My guess is it's a way cheap one or the battery isn't holding a charge any more??
Any one got some good, low price suggestions for off grid Solar LED??

Mac

Mac-We got one off Amazon to light up my dog kennel. Will try to find out the brand. It works pretty doggone good but seems to be limited after cloudy days, but for the most part is great. I like it.

After a good sunny day it comes on very bright. If it is in use a lot, or if it has not gotten much sun it's dimmer but still bright enough to see your way around. I think it has a setting for how long it stays on. The sensor to run it on is really good and when I walk out around the gate it is instant light.

I think it would be perfect for an outhouse. Will try to get the info for you but we've had it a couple years. Might want to check it out on Amazon.

We have one above the trap shed door, it's got a detached solar panel with a line for current to the light. It's been up for 2 winters so far and has held up well, hasn't ever not lit up when we or critters are back there to kick it on. The lights are LED. I don't remember if it came from home depot or harbor freight- but it was $30-$40 when we bought it.

I use the ones from Harbor Freight at home and at my hunting property. Bright LED and you can adjust the length of time they stay on

I've been considering them too but with the front of the house facing east I don't think it will help anything

Where I want to put a light in my out house it is in the trees. So I will need to find a light where I can string the solar panel away from the light into a sunny spot.
Anything with the solar panel right on the light is not going to work for me.

I got one at sams club years ago. Still working 4-5 years later. Lights up my dog kennel. It has a 10-12' cord to put the panel in the sun and light where you want.

I have a couple of the Harbor Freight LED ones, 3 years on one and lights up good, the other is a year old and is shaded by a maple tree, that one won't charge in the summer, too shady, comes back working when the leaves fall. I need to relocate that one. They're nice because you can mount them anywhere, (the sun shines, lol)

I bought 4 from Harbor Freight that have 60 LED bulbs, after a year 1 is totally shot, 1 has about 40 of the 60 bulbs shot, 2 that only come on in the manual mode. When they work they're pretty good but with all the failures I've had, not good. I moved one inside for power outages and that's the one I'm tickled with. It will light up the inside pretty good in storms. The panel is mounted outside.
