I believe they were made in Taiwan. I think they were made for a few years in the late '70's early '80's.

Yup, the traps were made in Taiwan for Pioneer Trap Company based in Portland, Oregon. Randy had the dates right also.

They made coil spring and long spring traps in various sizes. Some of the larger traps, like the # 3 double long were set up do they could be either dogless or dog on.

If in decent condition, pioneer traps have some collectors value.

I had 3-4 dozen of them that I bought new back around 1981. They were really strong I remember that. I still have a couple of them.

Still have several of them, #11's, paid 19.00 a dozen for them new back in the day, lol. Got some 1.5 longs sure catch as well, had the flip guard deal on them. One good coon back then would pay for a dozen, now a dozen coon won't buy a dozen, my how times change.

I think I recall paying $35 a dozen and were supposedly factory seconds. I never could find anything wrong with them though.

And they also made conibear type traps in 110, 220 and 330. I have what I believe to be a full set of Pioneers, most new and there are around 30-35 different sizes, styles and variations.

I have nothing clever to put here.
