When you said red it really is a red cat. Nice catch!

Near Kaycee there are some red Rock walls, I caught a female that had red tint to fur, looked like red Rock color stained fur

The first cat I caught in this area was on a sunny day when I was looking for it on a drag it looked like a red fox, big cat 27.5 but glowed red.

In our area and probably yours there rarely seems to be any 2 cats that are the same. Good thing they are buying the bellys and not the backs!

Law Dog do you mind if I make an observation on this thread about culverts and otters. Has nothing to do with cats and don't wat to hijack the thread but that picture answers a question I have been hypothesizing for many years.

Pretty belly on the cat so the glass is half full my friend

Go for it I got stuck in the draw setting the 1st day and had time to look around and found tracks at both ends of this culvert so I set a blind set at each end. (Otter do the same thing?)

When I first started trapping otter I couldn't for the life of me make logic out of why the darn things wouldn't swim through a 6'-8' culvert 40' long. Well the more I trapped them and the more I stared at those culverts even in the 24"-36" it finally hit me.

When an otter is approaching the culvert, let's use the one in LawDogs picture up at the top. All he can see is the tiny hole at the other end, I don't think they have any depth perception so seeing the farthest, end it being such small opening they just veer to either side go up the bank, over the road or levy and back into the water.

I could be completely wrong but I think that could be the reason. I have caught a few going through them in beaver sets but they weren't my targeted critter.
