Have not been out but heard Honeoye has 4 to 6, Loon has 6 to 8, and Silver Lake as 4 to 6 on south end. Want to hit Chautauqua Lake this weekend but only have safe ice on south end I've heard.

Gonna need my new built "Smitty Sled " for ice fishing this weekend with a fresh 15 inches of snow...

conesus lake people either love it or hate it. never caught anything in it and I tried all 4 seasons. I'm of the latter and I lived in Avon. 300 yards from the DEC regional office. 4 minutes from the lake.

I guess I'm a love it... it's about the only lake I fish so it's hard to break away after learning how to catch some fish. Although haven't ice fished in years and am hoping to get out a few times this year.

Just a tad bit cool out on Chautauqua Lake this morning. North end (Mayville) 2 inches of clear ice with 10 inches of white ice on top. Nothing to write home about. Dozen perch dinks that I returned to the depths from which they came. Guess its to the south end for eyes, perch and crappies if I go back out.
