^^^^good points! The place i caught the 5 yotes in the same trap set was roughly 100 yds from a bayou in a tall grass field where two cattle trails came together. Bait and gland lure with canine call as a call lure up high on a weed. Two of the remakes where inverted V's with the torn up grass. Beaver castor and lenons weasel lure where the attractants. The other two where the Dobbins "double banana" walk through remake with beaver castor and either pros choice or masts #5. At the banana remakes the dispatch blood was at the end of the walk through. After the third set I switched to GH2 for the call lure.

I've been watching my coyote catch circles in the snow for years...other coyotes avoid them like the plague. I now just pull the set after a catch and put in a new set nearby. Might be a local thing. Same here. I only trap my 200 acre farm so I am unsure if it is a local thing as well.

That's wierd. The coyotes are walking by 3 other sets to get to my catch circle.

Same here. I only trap my 200 acre farm so I am unsure if it is a local thing as well. A lot here depends on thick your coyotes are in your area,What some people consider a coyote epidemic is nothing compared to other areas. Here in the U.P.of Michigan my experience mirrors yours.I've taken 2 per set on numerous occasions, but that's only after the set sat for about 2-3-4 weeks after the original catch. And I too have watched coyotes give a catch circle a wide berth,up here its the rule and not the exception.I remember one set where over the course of 3 weeks a set had taken 2 coyotes and by using a drag they both went off about 20-30 yrds.before they hung up.After a week or so after the last catch they started using the trail again but went waaayyyy around the set.No catch circle because the trap was on a drag so nothing tore up,still they avoided the site.Anybody who thinks coyotes will work a catch circle regardless of the country has never worked areas like these.Spooky coyotes, pure and simple.

A bit off topic but felt it'd be of importance here....what attractor do you use for your multiple catches at remakes? I'll start....Charlie Dobbins went into detail about wild canine psychology in his writings...he felt a good food lure increased the chance of attracting another predator into the set based on "greed." In other words, the approaching animal thinks it'll get a free meal at the set. I like to used a quality bait but have to admit that I have used other lures and have had success. It seems at some of these remakes a guy could use almost anything and conect. I have my best success with remakes with musk type lures. Food makes more sense but we ain't coyotes. Another thing I've noticed is coyotes and fox love coon remakes. Bucks right its all about population density. Low density the more guarded, high population, the more competition there is there more greedy. The location I took 20 from last season has only produced 3 so far. All sweetened up with beaver carcasses like last year. Next section North taken 6, only one in a remake and the first catch was a boar coon. Yotes sure are a funny sort.. ALWAYS have a fresh set down wind of remakes..
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..
