Would the clip on deer stop work to make a snare "less lethal" for bobcats and not cause pelt damage? I know cats choke out easily. So is this even practical?

I ask because I need to keep them alive or the birds will destroy them if dead.

Not realistic. Cats choke out too quickly for it to matter.

I assume you’re asking because if they get caught in a snare or conibear they are subject to a 13 day check?

Learn to accept advice from old guys, before they stop giving it.

You will find the cats where they are, loCATion, loCATion, loCATion.

Use traps. If they get in to an entanglement situation, they could choke out.If left too long in a snare, alive, some real hide damage can occur.A little damage on a cat hide can cost big bucks.Use traps.

X2 on everything said above. I wouldn't want to try and intentionally make a cat snare a "live" snare. They just aren't that tough and even a hip snared cat will often be dead. I'd suggest legholds only if you must keep them alive.

Nope asking bc I have limited supply of suitable traps.
