Here's Trooper, she is doing crazy good on planted sheds, found her first wild one last week .
Betting Bob will be doing the same .

They start out like that then a couple treats and table scraps from unruly kids and you get this.

I trained a German shorthair pointer to find sheds, and he was doing great and he ran out behind my dad's truck and I lost him. Still miss him. Get you one of those rubber horns to start with so they don't get hurt and I'd say he'll make a great shed dog. They even have scent that you can put on the rubber horn. Good luck

You will love having a shed dog! Mine is no pro, but she sure tries hard and finds her fair share! That picture was her first outing almost two years ago now.

I just got a new Lab as well, he's a real light yellow , British strain, more show quality background and more laid back tempermant, a very fast learner, was quite expensive but will very likely be my last, have no idea how to share a picture but "Briar" is adorable as all Lab pups are. I too am looking at the more expensive/high quality feeds, I know it makes a differance. And to those of you who feed "meat" do you cook it? Wish the grandkids were closer to wear this guy out.

I trained mine to be a shed dog. He loces it but we dont have any deer anymore to drop sheds. But hes pretty good at finding them if their there. Shed hunting is a lot more fun with a dog
