I'm sure there is execptions but I think the only hind foot catches I've had on canines have been females. I think it's how they posture to urinate on the lure. I'd be interested to hear if that's a female The two back foot catches I had last year were both female. I'm sure reddawg will let us know what his was.

I intentionally target the back foot on wolverine.
Trapstickman does also as he demonstrates your method of dispatching the ornery critters.

A wolverine caught by a hind foot is usually better then a front foot catch. They have a tendency to chew on anything in front of them when caught. I intentionally target the back foot on wolverine. What's your method of targeting the back foot?

A wolverine caught by a hind foot is usually better then a front foot catch. They have a tendency to chew on anything in front of them when caught. Same with coon. I can't remember ever having a coon chew on a caught hind foot. Only had one hind foot catch last season and it was a female coyote.

What's your method of targeting the back foot? Sorry to take So long to respond. Here is my normal wolverine foothold setup. Get the bait high enough to force them to stand but not high enough to make them climb. This way, only their back feet are on the ground. Result:

I don't see that set up excluding a front foot catch altogether.
