I just got some odd looking victor LS guard traps. They have a short, but wide at the bend spring. The pan is small rectangle that hooks in to a wire dog(?) that holdes both jaws down at the end opposite of the spring. Pan is marked oneida victor stop 1 loss.Any idea when they were made& about how much they are worth? They seem to be all original, with strong springs, a couple of them have the stake ring bent tho.
Thanks Dennis

Dennis, Your traps were made in the early 1940's. Here is a catalog from 1941. Unless they are in new condition, they don't have much collector value. Dean

They are still a popular muskrat trap with some trappers. In good used condition they sell for about $6.50 each.

Even brand new, still shiny, traps would have very little collector value - maybe $10.00 or so.

Thank you both for your info. I bought 18 of these off a kid on another trapping site for $100 shipped. I was expecting a newer round pan style. He said the fellow he got them from said they are 1 1/2. 16 of them have springs stronger than my 1 1/2 newer style V LS guard traps. Pans are readable before "tooth brushing" I think they are kinda col looking, but never thought them to be that old! going to hang a couple on the wall, give a couple for gifts, then possably trade the rest some time. Thanks again.
