We got a new warden a few years ago and he is not pleasant at all.... smile

The last warden we had was very good but they fired him because he could not afford to buy a house in this county....purchased a house a few miles over the line that he could afford...and they canned him because you have to live in the county that you are assigned to work in.

It seems the new guy here thinks everyone he runs into is a criminal waiting for him to bust for something.

The kdwp law enforcement park rangers are very bad also.

I had the pleasure of running into some very nice game wardens on my Missouri hunts.

Anyway, trapping season open soon.

Excellent here,we invite them out to our fieldtrips with their kids and they always show up for the day.
More than once trappers that were overdue to come in from the bush or guys spending a couple months in the bush have been checked on by our gamewardens-great bunch of guys.I have met some of the top provincial enforcement officers, and they are upstanding people too.
Gamewardens here were not allowed to trap or hold a registered trapline because the government deemed it a conflict of interest. Our trappers federation went to bat for them with the politicians and helped them get the policy changed so that they are now able to trap.
If you got people interpreting law for you it is nice if they are one of you.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Here also-and in Idaho.

Ive had cooperation in all manner of things...even a well known F&G Officer who single handedly hunted down poachers-palled up with me in hunting down a dog pack who was killing deer-we hunted them down together-man that was fun...

When anyone in office has something in common with you-and you are good to them in treatment-more often than not-they can wield weight in your direction when needed.

Our COs are nice for the most part. In my business I have to deal with these fellas all the time. There is only one officer in this area that is pretty much not a real nice fella. He pushes every thing to the limit and my friend had a problem with him last season. This CO pretty much broke the law giving my friend a ticket. The only good thing that happened was it was a warning ticket. The bad thing was he took a river Otter that was trapped legally from my friend.

Here game wardens don't interpret that law, they enforce it. It force rubs you the wrong way, it's best to keep your distance. The trapper's associations don't pay the wages.

One negative experience in the last 30 years. The three that I know very well work their tales off with little pay.

Spending time with your kids in the woods, is far better than any vacation!

Like any profession you will have some bad ones. WI DNR does not have a great reputation.

However over all...there to do their job.

COs here are great. Easy to work with and Kramer does some trapping himself. Get along with e and the others very well. They always treat kids well, too.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Good people here but I have had a bad experience with a young warden new to the area. He broke the plug in my gun in front of 8 people and still wrote me up for no plug

great around me. One is a trapper.

Both are great guys, have excellent relationship with them. One pointed me to a new spot to trap.

The one we have now is good.He even had someone contact me to take care of the person beaver problem and gain new ground. he is here to enforce the law.The one before him was not good at all.She was something else. Here she was in my county and the state and she was known in WI for some of the things she had done.Glad we do not have her anymore. But the ones before her, I had no problems with also. They are the law enforcement and I know they need to do there job.

Mixed bag here. Had one give my dad a ticket for fishing on posted property and the sign was 20 feet up a tree.

Ours is by the books, great guy has got me at least 10 new properties to trap over the past 3 years Nobody in the county like's him cause he does his job .The old one we had for over 30 years that ended up being a joke ,wouldn't write a ticket if he had to ,this guy wrote more tickets in 3 months than the old one did in 5 years.

We have 3 in our area,2 are real good stand up CO's with common sense, the other one is probably voting for Hillary.I'm sure he'll read this, but i dont care.Last dec,yes i said LAST DEC he seized our martens, stating they where tagged improperly,we have coupon tags[like a deer tags]does'nt have to be attached to the animal. You mark/cut out date,am/pm maten/fisher/otter we've always marked them with a ball point pen, cant change once you've marked them,he the CO said they need to be cut out with a knife to be vaild,i've talked to many CO's through out our state and everyone said my coupon tags were legal. Most of the time when you register your pelts to get your cite tags they do not even ask for the coupon tags, once since they started them about 5 years ago.Getting back to last dec,he just informed us we are getting tickets for our improperly tagged marten 10 months 27 days later, like i said he must be voting for Hillary,he's quick on his job NOT......Nick you should be more like Eric and Ben GOOD CO's or are you an ANTI......I guess we'll see each other in court....Enough of my rant, but i really dislike people that have no common sense.
