I have this one and would like to know the time frame they were made and if it has collectible value or if I should just use it for muskrats and pocket gophers.

I think the time frame is mid 1970s. It was the first model of the #1 coil for Victor. Not very popular, trappers didn't like them. After 2 years, Victor switched to the double coil.

Unless in super nice, almost new condition, it is basically a user trap. Even in super nice condition, the collector value is under $10.00.

Thanks wissmiss. that was I was thinking but was not sure since I am new to learning about the history of traps. I have a feeling it will turn into a addicting hobby for me as time goes on and as I buy different traps for my collection.

When I was a kid I used to visit a local home hardware store had one of those hanging on the wall for sale seamed like forever it was there. That was 1981-82. I could not say if it was an American made one or made in niagra falls.

remembering back it would of been around the early 80's I got mine. I have used it as a pocket gopher trap and it seems good for that but now I have decided to put it on the wall. mine is a USA made one.
