LOL, must have been made on a Friday (eager to get out) or Monday (hung over from weekend). Is that spot to have a double stamp on the pan?

Nice specimen.

Something in the pictures for a size reference would be very helpful. The way it is, you can't tell if it is 6 inches or 2 feet.

Cascade,

The pan size is about 5 1/2" X 4". The inside dimensions of the jaws, when in the set position, are 10" X 14 1/2". The trap has an overall length (spring tip to spring tip) of 18". - No.4

Very nice trap, this is the first one I have laid eyes on. I doubt it would have been a very good bear trap, smooth jaws, hook in jaws , and small chain and swivel looks like a recipe for loosing a bear and possibly the trap. The condition is unbelievable, a very nice piece for any collection. Thanks for showing it.....

Great Find! I agree that they wouldn't have held a bear for very long. Same with a Triumph 415X, a good size bear would have destroyed them!

One time I was buying a few bear traps from an old fellow, after we had completed the deal. He asked me if I had ever seen a triumph trap after it had caught a bear. I told him know and he proceeded to dig out a five gallon pail full of mangled triumph parts, literally pulled the jaws right out of the frame. The old guy said he would never buy another one ....lol
