I seen a lot of them with the wing nut so I'm going to say factory.

Wing nut pan attachment was fairly common on all B&L double under spring traps.

My dad was using them in the 1930s and I used them thru-out the 1960s. I sold a ton of them in the 1960s when I ran a trapping supply house. We couldn't get them after around 1971. That's when Blake & Lamb was distributing the coilspring fox trap. This came about because of a law suit by Woodstream. They sued B&L over patent infringment of the conibear style body grip trap B&L came out with. Don't know the full details, but B&L started getting traps made by Woodstream, and they discontinued the larger underspring models. We could pick up warehoused stock from some distributors, but no more steady supply from the B&L factory. Sorry, a bit windy...but hope this helps.

The bolt with wingnut was a fairly late change on B&L double under springs. Earlier versions from 1859 on were all riveted. I cannot date the conversion to the adjustable version well at all but would guess it was the 1960s or perhaps mid 1950s.

Wing-nuts around 1945-1946 season. I may be mistaken but I believe they started first with the No. 23 water set trap and the No. 44 u.s. and then added to the other larger u.s. traps.
