Someone stopped by with something I've never seen before. A bag of Newhouse #3 snares.

I have some Newhouse snares, new in the box. One of the boxes is opened and I think the snares look the same as what is in the picture.

I'm thinking the bag would be older than the boxes.

You're saying Newhouse snares are collector items? Are Kleflocks collectable too?

After monkeying around with one of the Newhouse #3 snares, I would say they would be better for collecting because the quality doesn't come close to what's available today.

rszwieg, Some of Kleffmans snares are collectable.

I think Newhouse snares, new, never used have some collector value. Simply because they aren't made any more, it has been probably 30 plus years since they were made and they have the name Newhouse associated with them.

Kleflock snares, sort of the same way, new in the box and no longer made = collector value.

I doubt if there is much of a market for used snares, as they wear out rather fast.
